“In the absence of faith, we govern by tenderness. And tenderness leads to the gas chamber." - Flannery O’Connor.

When it comes to passion, put a fork in me; I'm done.

Why? For so many reasons, indeed for Reason itself.

Just a few weeks back, the Wall Street Journal put on one of its conferences - a type of Tech Live it's called. During one session, Joanna Stern of the Journal interviews Sam Altman, the erstwhile CEO of OpenAI, and Mira Murati, the now-interim CEO for OpenAI.

Stern starts with a question to the two of them: "What makes you human?" and the answer may be only one word.

Murati answers "humor"; Altman "emotion."

Both are wrong but Altman's egregiously so.
